TATIANA TO RACE AT MONZA IN HONOUR OF HUBERT

Tatiana Calderón will take part in this weekend’s Monza FIA Formula 2 Championship round with a heavy heart as she seeks to honour the memory of Anthoine Hubert.

Hubert, Tatiana’s teammate in the BWT Arden team, tragically succumbed to injuries sustained in a high-speed crash during the feature race at Spa-Francorchamps last Saturday, which was abandoned as a result. Sunday’s sprint race was also subsequently cancelled.

Still reeling from the tragedy of the loss of one of the most popular figures in the F2 paddock, Arden is fielding only one car at Monza for Tatiana this weekend.

Also involved in the incident that claimed Hubert’s life was Juan Manuel Correa, Tatiana’s fellow Alfa Romeo F1 junior scheme member and former teammate. Correa remains in intensive care after undergoing surgery in the wake of the crash last weekend.

Tatiana is determined to give it her all in this weekend’s two races at the historic, high-speed Monza circuit, the antepenultimate venue on the 2019 F2 calendar, and in doing so provide a fitting tribute to her fallen colleague.

Tatiana Calderón: “Words simply can’t describe my feelings. My heart is with Anthoine’s family. I will race for him in Monza and I’ll do my best to make him proud. My prayers and thoughts are also with Juan Manuel. I had the chance to visit him and I hope to see him fully recovered soon. Monza will be a difficult weekend for everyone, but we will do our very best, just like Anthoine would have.”
