TATIANA RARING TO RETURN TO GP3 ACTION IN FRANCE

Alfa Romeo Sauber Formula 1 test driver Tatiana Calderón returns to racing action this weekend with the second round of the GP3 Series at Paul Ricard in Southern France.

After a break of six weeks since the curtain-raiser in Barcelona, the Colombian rising star will be reunited with her Jenzer Motorsport team as they seek to deliver on the clear promise shown during pre-season testing and in practice for the opening round.

The Paul Ricard circuit, situated near the town of Toulon in France, will host GP3 for the first time this weekend as it returns to the F1 schedule for the first time since 1990.

Tatiana is no stranger to the 5.842km layout however, having raced there in Euroformula Open in 2016 and having tested there as recently as this year in GP3.

This weekend’s race marks the start of a particularly busy time in Tatiana’s schedule, with four rounds packed into just six weeks, and the 25-year-old is aware that building valuable momentum with a good points finish will be vital to achieving her goals for the season.

Tatiana Calderón: “Obviously it’s been a long break since Barcelona, but I’ve been kept busy with training and I went to the Monaco GP as well to be with Alfa Romeo Sauber. It was positive to have the experience to go to all the technical meetings. Now I’m more than ready to go back on track. Paul Ricard is a track I like, we tested on even when it was very cold, the car felt pretty good and we were very competitive the whole two days. I’m looking forward to challenging for our first points, and I think we have the tools to do so.”
