TATIANA DEBUTS IN NEW ZEALAND

Tatiana joined the fray in the Toyota racing Series in New Zealand today 11th January 2013 coming home a creditable 12th place in a high quality field of drivers from around the worlds best racing championship’s.

Looking totally comfortable in this company which includes multiple F3 race winners and series champions Tatiana qualified 12th inside a second of the pole sitters time and 3rd of her 5 car team ETEC Motorsports entrants.

The Teretonga track clearly suited her driving style as she adapted from F3 machinery to the more edgy Toyota Series cars, her smooth and precise F3 techniques clearly obvious to observers and her engineers.

In the race itself, a problem with the clutch as she took to her grid position was a worry but a clean get away saw her surge past a local hero Damon Leitch into the first corner and set off in pursuit of teammate Jann Mardenborough who had been earning plaudits all week from his fellow competitors. Tatiana showed no resect for this and hounded the Welshman but couldn’t ultimately pass.

“Its so narrow here” she quipped “ every time I tried to move on him I ran out of room because there isn’t any!

The team agree that Tatiana has the potential to score decent points in the series and race 2 and 3 tomorrow will see Tatiana chasing down a top ten finish.
