Tatiana Calderon confirms FIA European Formula 3 assault with Double R Racing

19 year-old Tatiana Calderon will compete in the 2013 FIA European Formula 3 Championship after agreeing a deal to compete with former British Formula 3 Champions, Double R Racing.

The Colombian, a proven front-runner in Star Mazda, accumulating two podiums on her way to sixth position 2011 championship standings, spent 2012 competing in the F3 Open where she impressed immensely during her debut season in Formula 3 machinery.

After a successful six-week campaign in the 2013 Toyota Racing Series in New Zealand, Calderon will now continue to compete against some of Europe’s finest emerging racing talent as she looks to become the first female racing driver to compete in the FIA Formula One World Championship.

“Signing a deal to compete with Double R is brilliant news,” said Calderon. “They are a very professional team that have proved to be very competitive in British Formula 3 in the past.”

‘I’m really looking forward to starting a new chapter with them in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship and I can’t wait to jump in the car.”

The 2013 FIA European Formula 3 Championship will get underway at Monza on 23/24 March.
