Colombian racing star joins the ROKiT family in long-term partnership
The ROKiT Group and award-winning singer-songwriter Maisy Kay are delighted to announce a long-term collaboration with racing driver Tatiana Calderon ahead of the 2020 Japanese Super Formula Championship and European Le Mans Series (ELMS).
Colombian sensation Calderon will make history in 2020 as the first woman to race full-time in the Japanese Super Formula series – and will do so hand-in-hand with the ROKiT family, who build upon an already extensive motor racing portfolio including title sponsor partnerships in Formula 1, Formula E and many more.
As the first woman ever to win the National Karting Championships in both Colombia and the US and the first female to make the podium in British Formula 3, Calderon, like Maisy Kay is no stranger to breaking the mold. Calderon and Kay share a strong following with young women around the world who have been inspired by their success and have made a clear commitment to continue to empower the next generation of female talent.
With up to 13 events spanning Japan and Europe over the course of the 2020 racing season, a variety of ROKiT brands will support the Colombian talent throughout her upcoming campaign.
This strategic partnership will include ROKiT Drinks brand, Bandero Tequila which will be promoted by Calderon in the Super Formula.
In the ELMS – a competition that presents an opportunity to race at the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans – Calderon will be supported by ROKiT Cities and singer-songwriter Maisy Kay.
As true believers in opportunity, ROKiT and Maisy Kay’s partnerships with Calderon is founded upon trust and faith, with all three parties sharing similar views, goals and values.
Recognized as innovators, challengers and disruptors in their respective fields, one of ROKiT’s key aims with its sports sponsorships is to change the face of motor racing through supporting the underrepresented and enabling equal opportunities for women. Calderon has a proven track record of paving the way for other young female drivers to showcase their abilities.
“I’m very grateful to the ROKiT Group and in particular to Jonathan Kendrick for this fantastic opportunity and for believing in me.” Said Tatiana Calderon “To have partners like this is the best recognition I can have, as it allows me to focus on being the best I can be in racing. For a while I faced the prospect of having my career in single seaters stall, but the ROKiT Group has believed in my project and I can’t thank them enough for their faith. We will ROKiT together!”
Jonathan Kendrick, CEO of the ROKiT Group commented further: “Tatiana is a very exciting talent and we at ROKiT are proud to support her ambitions. Alongside our existing portfolio of motorsports partnerships, which have been developed to help enable and empower women in motorsports, we wish her the best of good fortune. Her success will be our success.”
Maisy Kay, singer-songwriter: “Tatiana has real drive to achieve, she’s a proven groundbreaker and I’m so happy and proud to be part of her dynamic and thrilling journey in motorsport. I am a fan of racing and even more so a fan of supporting women who follow their dreams and have a strong passion in their field.”
