TATIANA CALDERÓN HEADS TO ATLANTA FOR THE FINAL IMSA MICHELIN ENDURANCE CUP RACE OF THE YEAR

This marks the first time Calderón will participate in the prestigious Petit Le Mans

With her head high, Tatiana Calderón is headed to Atlanta, Georgia for the final race of the 2024 IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup season. The Colombian racer will take the track this upcoming Saturday, October 12th with Gradient Racing teammates Sheena Monk and Stevan McAleer for the prestigious 10 Hour Petit Le Mans for the first time in her stellar career.

The Petit Le Mans is known as one of the most challenging races during the IMSA season, which takes place at the Road Atlanta circuit, built in 1970, is a 2.54-mile, 12-turn natural terrain road course. This amount of turns provides high elevation changes which makes it physically demanding for drivers. The race’s 10-hour length makes it one of the longest tests of the season, but in a much shorter lap, which makes for a busier more hectic race for the drivers.

Previously at the Battle on the Bricks in Indianapolis, the team’s #66 car showed good pace but suffered an electrical problem. Despite the technical issues, Tatiana was able to show her speed, setting competitive and consistent lap times during her stints at the wheel of the #66 Acura NSX  GT3 Evo22. The Gradient Racing team has faced numerous challenges throughout the season, but as they’ve shown time and again, they are more than ready to tackle what’s ahead and finish this season on a high note.

Tatiana Calderón: “We are approaching the last race of the season, we are going to the Road Atlanta circuit for the Petit Le Mans and we will have 10 hours of racing in a very complicated circuit, with many elevation changes. I will have to adapt very quickly and although we have 3 practice sessions on Thursday, when you split that among three drivers, running becomes more limited. We will have an additional challenge with part of the race running at night, where everything is a little more difficult given the characteristics of this track and the speed differences among the different classes. I really want to close the season on a high note, and be able to translate the rhythm we’ve had in several races during the year into the kind of result we have been working hard as a team to achieve.“

“I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us this year, Karol G’s Con Cora Foundation, Wandr Studio, AVL RaceTech, Escudería Telmex, the Colombian Ministry of Sport. I also want to thank Rimas Sports, an agency that I’m now very happy to be working with towards the future.”

Later this month  between October 25th and 27th, Tatiana will be in Mexico City for the Mexican Grand Prix, where she has been named as the first female ambassador in the history of the event.

Recently, the renowned racer was part of the Emerging Family Leaders panel that took place in the JP Morgan Headquarters in New York, following the Battle on The Bricks race in Indianapolis last month.
